Winds of Winter Release Date 2014: Is It Even Possible?
When George RR Martin released the first few chapter excerpts from his upcoming book, fans guessed that it's a teaser and the author will soon come with a finished version of this book. Unfortunately, since then, there has been no confirmed news on when "Winds of Winter" is actually releasing, giving air to several rumor mills, IB Times reported.
Recently some of the reports claimed that Martin actually plans to come up with the book this year only, but looking at the pace of work it seems almost impossible. The author also told reporters that working on the manuscript has not been easy. There are over 1500 pages of unfinished work, but still he believes that there is more to be added to make "Winds of Winter" a better bridge between "A Dance with Dragons" and "A Dream of Spring". Apparently there were over a thousand pages in the last book of this series and it seems that Martin is keen to keep it that way for the upcoming releases too. And that is precisely why you can expect the release that somewhere around April next year, as Martin is bound by a contractual obligation to finish this book before mid 2015.
As far as the spoilers are concerned, Cersei Lannister is definitely going down in the "Winds of Winter" with the threats that she has created in the last book. Her trial is inevitable, and that too by combat. Meanwhile, Arya will be busy with her training, which we also got to know from the sample chapter, as revealed in the author's website.
Her powers will multiply as she keeps learning more and more in the light of the revenge. Of course, then there is a lot be answered in terms of parentage and Faceless Men. Will she finally uncover all the truths? Seems very likely.
Readers also anticipated two huge battles that will decide the course of this story towards the end. 'The Battle for the North' and 'The Battle of Meereen' will forge new heroes and death of many important characters. There was already a cliff-hanger in the last chapter of previous book about Meereen, Daenerys, and Barristan, and it seems that finally Ironborn have also taken their call on the loyalties.
As for "The Battle for Winterfell," there is little information on Manderly allegiance, Bolton forces, and Rickon possessions to deduce anything with certainty. RR Martin will definitely serve a lot of blood, drama, and mystery here.
