Lea Michele Releases Cory Monteith Tribute Song "You're Mine", Listen Here (VIDEO)
Lea Michele released her first single and music video for her song "Cannonball" in recent months for her upcoming debut album, Louder, and now fans are getting their first listen at another new song. The "Glee" star has her song "You're Mine" circulating the internet, which is a tribute song to her boyfriend and "Glee" co-star, Cory Monteith, who died last July at age 31.
In anticipation of her new song releasing to the public, Michele took to twitter on Monday to write, "My next . . . track #YOUREMINE (available tomorrow) is my favorite song on #LOUDER" and "It's so special to me & it's story is so close to my heart." The emotional song includes the lyrics, "You're mine, for life/ And I'll be by your side/ We are entwined/ You're mine, for life/ Hold me until we go, oh yes, and you will love/ I'm yours, you're mine/ I'm yours, you're mine."
In the December 2013 issue of Elle, Michele revealed that "You're Mine" is dedicated to Monteith, and shares that the song was a late addition to the album after his passing. "The album was done, and the label said, 'Do you want to add anything?' I was like, 'I might regret it if I don't,'" Michele shared. "It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory. It was ours. When I think if him, I play this."
Her debut album, Louder, is set to release on March 4th, 2014. You can pre-order the album now HERE.
