'Android 5.0 L': New Operating System Review of Features And Release
Google uses sweets in naming its Android operating system - Frozen Yogurt (Froyo), Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kitkat, and Lollipop. The full Android 5.0 Lollipop, also known as Android L, will be release early part of November this year. Google company has released its official Android 5.0 SDK as well as the Android 5.0 Developer Preview final build, according to the Android website.
The new Android Lollipop features its Material Design, the new design language for the new version. The new navigation buttons are now a triangle, a circle, and a square. Depth also gives emphasis to user interface elements, utilizing the shadow and the light sources. For the application interface, new features have been integrated such as automatic generation of colors based on content, new animations, and touch feedback.
Notifications for the Android Lollipop have been enhanced, since the notification panel has been integrated with the lockscreen. The lockscreen shows the notification panel, which now enables users to see what's happening as they pick up the phone. Notifications such as incoming calls as well as messages will also pop up at the top of the screen in case you are browsing or playing a game.
According to Androidgeeks, users will have to have the files removed in the installation process in the Nexus device. Most developers and other users who want to test the new operating system can install the final build of Android 5.0 Developer Preview. Users just have to ensure that the Android SDK 5.0 is installed in the PC as well as all the UB drivers for the Nexus 5 or Nexus 7. The factory images for the Nexus 4, 5, and 7 devices will be available in early November to be followed by the OTA updates for Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Three devices were also unveiled last Wednesday - the Nexus 9 tablet, Nexus 6 smartphone, and Nexus Players streaming-media box. They will be the first few devices to run on Lollipop, according to CNET. Android still remains as the more commonly used operating system globally for both smartphones and tablets, as compared to the iOS.
