P.O.D. Set to Release their First Unplugged Acoustic Album 'SoCal Sessions'
Multi-platinum Southern California alternative metal band P.O.D. has signed an exclusive, worldwide recording contract with T-Boy Records and Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The acclaimed San Diego band's first release under the new agreement will be a new acoustic album, SoCal Sessions, on November 17. SoCal Sessions, P.O.D.'s first-ever acoustic album, features 12 newly-recorded, unplugged versions of the band's top hits, including "Youth of the Nation," "Alive" and other standout hits. This will be the multi-platinum alt-metal band's first-ever "unplugged" album.
The album was financed by fans via PledgeMusic. "We originally got the idea after doing a number of radio shows and radio stations asking us to perform acoustic. We were a bit hesitant at first, but after great fan reaction, we wanted to do a whole acoustic album. We've been hard at work in the studio and have already finished over half of the album. We've been having a lot of fun with it and it's got a really raw, stripped down feel to it," they wrote on their PledgeMusic site.
"We are thrilled that P.O.D., who have enjoyed a strong fanbase for years, has chosen the PledgeMusic platform to further connect with their fans to release this special collection of songs," said PledgeMusic in a press release about their partnership with P.O.D.
P.O.D. will heavily support/promote through their acoustic shows (see below for details). P.O.D. has sold more than 12 million albums and has 3 Grammy®-nominations, 4 number one music videos and more than a dozen rock radio hits including "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation"
