'Winds of Winter' Release Date: George R.R. Martin's Sixth Book in 'A Song of Ice and Fire' Series is Sure to Come
Acclaimed author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, George R. R. Martin's request for the extension of the release date of his work, "Winds of Winter", was met with severe frustration from his fans that have been waiting for years.
Christian Today reported that the 66-year old author appealed to move the release date to 2016, a year later than the original schedule which is 2015. A negative response is expected considering the great interest they have on the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series which has brought the author to stardom. Hence, one can imagine the intensity of their longing to have the "Winds of Winter". After years of waiting, imaginative scenes play in the curious minds of fans, as they speculate on the fantastic acts the book may hold.
The news spread after the author's conversation with filmmaker Pen Densham during the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. One of the topics discussed was "Winds of Winter" and Martin disclosed the unlikelihood of having it released on the scheduled date. He has been preoccupied with interviews and travel that followed the release of his highly esteemed book series, and not to mention that his stories were also adapted in a TV show "Game of Thrones"
Considering his advanced age and health condition, appearing on commitments around the globe has been more than enough a distraction for a writer to finish a masterpiece. He enjoyed the travel but it interferes in the creative flow of one's thoughts, which is important for a writer like him.

As the excitement builds up, IBT talked of Davos Seaworth's adventures which stemmed from his assignment to find Ned Stark's children so that Lord Manderly would accept Stannis as King. There were speculations that Arya Stark, the master assassin, might have the chance to meet her impostor. What is certain of course are the inevitability of death, the necessity of war, and the quest for power.
Even though the question of release date remains unresolved, it is safe to just hang around, as the next bestseller is sure to come in due time.
