The Evil Within (PS4) Review: This Newly Released Game Picked Up Where The Resident Evil 4 Left, A Winning Combination Of The Old And The New
"The Evil Within (PS4)" was released worldwide a few days ago, on the 14th of this month. This is also available in different platforms such as PS3, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Tango Gameworks developed this, while Bethesda Softworks was its publisher. It's triple-A endurance titles have turned into something very rare because the action is more preferred compared to frights. "The Evil Within" publishers tried to make the game's genre as wide and action-oriented as possible.
Shinji Mikami deserves the credit, being the survivor horror celebrity who came back to his origins with "The Evil Within", a game that has the same feeling with the Resident Evil. This newly released game picked up where the Resident Evil 4 left, which made a winning combination of the old and the new.
The story of the game follows the adventures of Detective Sebastian Castellanos as he is investigating a gruesome mass murder scene. He and his partners also encounter a frightening and powerful force. After seeing with his two eyes the murder of his fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked into unconsciousness. When he woke up, he finds himself in a disturbed world where unsightly creatures walk among the dead. He has no choice but to face the unthinkable terror. He needs to survive and get on a scary adventure to unknot who is behind the evil force.
The following scenes were set in eerie old churches, creepy farmlands, abandoned asylums, frightening subway system, and haunted mansion as well as in the dank sewers, Digital Spy reported. These may not be the newest or the most unusual places, but when it comes to suggesting fear, these are very efficient. The very obvious trait of "The Evil Within" is that it is more of a restricted experience.
The real challenge of this game is to conserve ammo and maintain the health bar which makes encounters against the enemies more intense. This is usual for a survival horror genre and a successful way of generating fear.
As a player, you have the choice to sneak up on your enemies with one-hit kills, or create noises to clear a passageway and attract monsters into your traps. The stealth system creates for a much more mind-blowing experience. This is where the players are coerced to use the environment and make advance planning.
