Carrie Underwood Addresses Domestic Discord in her New Song "Little Toy Guns."

While the lead single from her forthcoming album "Greatest Hits: Decade #1," "Something in the Water" is at #1 on both the Billboard Christian and country song, Underwood gives us a foretaste of another new song "Little Toy Guns." "Little Toy Guns" and "Something in the Water" are two new songs on the forthcoming greatest hits.
While "Something in the Water" addresses the issue of baptism, sin, repentance and the chance to start over, "LittleToy Guns" addresses another seminal issue -- the effects of marital discord on children. A song that is bound to hit a chord with many listeners; Underwood shows how divorce and family violence have an impact on children.
"There's a little girl and she hears her parents fighting, as unfortunately a lot of kids do," she told The Country Vibe. "So it's basically her saying, 'I wish their words weren't real. I wish they were like little toy guns and they didn't hurt you.'"
"I've seen it first hand from different people in my life and seen how the tumultuous parental relationship between each other can affect a child," Underwood said. "So that's kind of what it's about, but it's a really tempo driven song as well, so it's kind of a bit of a juxtaposition as far as the story content and the music."
The thought of this type of tune coming from such a power-house vocalist even has Rolling Stone talking. They said, "The album also includes never-before-heard writing session worktapes of three songs and a duet with Vince Gill on the classic hymn, "How Great Thou Art," recorded at the ACM Presents: Girls' Night Out show in 2011."
