Tim Menzies Receives His First Grammy Nomination
Congratulations are in order as singer and songwriter Tim Menszies' new album "His Way of Loving Me" has been nominated for a Grammy in the new category "Best Roots Gospel Album." The album was recorded after experiencing the loss of his father and helping his mother adjust to her new life.
"I really experienced an unexpected creative release recording this album," said Tim. "For something so personal to be recognized with a Grammy nomination is incredibly humbling."
Produced by Ben Isaacs, of the internationally acclaimed and awarded Christian singing family The Isaacs, Menzies wrote or co-wrote seven of the 10 tracks on His Way Of Loving Me. He partnered with Shawn Camp, Monty Criswell, Tony Haselden and Roger Springer on the co-writes. The album includes Gospel standards "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "I'm Working On A Building" and "I Surrender All." Isaacs and Mark Capps engineered and edited the project, which was also mixed by Capps and mastered by Daniel Bacigalupi.Released on By Grace Records, His Way Of Loving Me is the only independent release in the "Best Roots Gospel Album" category.
Tim Menzies moved to Nashville over 30 years ago to pursue a career in music. During the mid 1980's, he was an in-demand session guitarist playing on records for such artists as Kenny Rogers, Tammy Wynette, Waylon, Willie and others. Tim could also be heard singing national jingles for Coca Cola, Bonanza Restaurants, and Chevrolet Trucks, as well as performing in Nashville venues at night. He continued to develop his songwriting, and his songs eventually caught the ear of legendary publisher Bob Beckham who signed him to Combine Music in 1985.
Some artists who have recorded Tim's songs include George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Kenny Rogers, Gene Watson, Doug Stone, Diamond Rio, Tracy Lawrence, Shelby Lynne, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Mark Chestnutt, Randy Travis, Patty Loveless, Toby Keith, Martina McBride, Joe Diffie, Trace Adkins, Josh Turner and many others.
Since 1991, when Tim wasn't writing songs, he was absorbed in God's Holy Word. Over the past several years, God increasingly called and equipped Tim to teach others about the Holy Scriptures, resulting in him leading and teaching many Bible classes and being blessed to witness God's Word transform lives.Tim's love for Jesus, the Holy Scriptures, and music resulted in this collection of songs reflecting common human experiences through a Christian worldview entitled"His Way Of Loving Me."
