Gospel Legend Beverly Crawford Gets a Stellar Award Nomination

Gospel Music legend Beverly Crawford has received a Stellar Award nomination for Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year this year. Last year, she has released her 7th solo CD "Thank You For All You've Done" that debuted at #1 on Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Further, Crawford will also perform on the 30th Annual Stellar Awards taping Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"It's always great to be acknowledged by the SAGMA community and the general public who voted for me," Crawford says. I've been nominated before but every new nomination feels like the first time. It never gets old and I never take it for granted. The icing on the cake is getting to perform at the 30th anniversary show. What an honor for me."
One of the most in-demand artists in the music industry, with over 200 dates a year, Crawford is riding high on the success of her pulsating remake of The Caravans' 1962 classic "Sweeping Through the City" that rose to #10 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay chart this past summer. The soul-stirring CD was recorded live at Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. It's an engaging balance of the traditional, Sunday morning church-styled songs Crawford is known for alongside well-crafted contemporary praise and worship songs by noted composers such as Melvin Williams, Derrick Lee, Stan Jones and Rodney Posey.
Crawford has spent the last two decades in the gospel spotlight as one of the primary exponents of the traditional gospel genre. After spending some years as a featured singer on BET's "Bobby Jones Gospel" TV program, she released her debut CD "Jesus, Precious King" in 1995. Along the way, she's performed at campaign rallies for President Obama, earned a Grammy Award nomination and even done a duet with Natalie Cole on national TV. Her biggest album to date is 2007's "Live From Los Angeles" (featuring the radio smash "He's Done Enough") that dominated the Billboard charts for over 70+ weeks and garnered 7 Stellar Award nominations including CD of the Year, Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, etc. Crawford and her husband/ manager Todd Crawford currently co-pastor The Gainesville Family Worship Center in Gainesville, FL.
