Revive Worship Unveils Their Passion for the Word Via Their New Record: "Singing Scripture Means We Are Singing Truth"

Revive Worship has just released their new worship "King of Glory" via DREAM Records. "King of Glory" is an amazing and powerful worship album based entirely on Psalms! Check out the track listing to see how each song relates to the scripture.
Revive Worship Music is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Loganville, Ga. It was birthed out of a desire to see worship revived in the church. Our hope is that not only will musical worship be revived, but also that what is said in Romans 12:1-2 that living a life of sacrifice as a true act of spiritual worship will ring true in all our hearts and those impacted by our music.
Hallels: Congratulations on the release of "King of Glory (Psalms)." Why an album based on the Psalms?
As a worship band that has a really close relationship with our home church, we again aligned ourselves with a sermon series led by our pastor Ronnie Kendall. The Psalms is a collection of scriptural songs so we jumped at the challenge of bringing ancient text to new life with a modern sound.
Hallels: Your last album was based on Ephesians and now this new one focuses on the Psalms, what's the value of singing the words of Scripture or words inspired by Scripture?
Singing scripture means we are singing truth. We try our very best to produce theologically sound music, and what better way than to stick to the very words of God that shape our Christian lives. We have also found that people are hungry for truth and being able to provide through Gods provision a way to sing truth corporately is another way for the Church as a whole to practice and hide Gods truth in our hearts.
Hallels: Did you approach the recording and writing of this new album any differently compared to "Made Alive"?
We actually did have a different approach. In the writing process we actually worked with a Josh Stewart a little bit who has a PhD in the hebrew who worked with us to help translate from the original hebrew text. We also spent more time in the studio being more intentional with everything we put on the record. Even though we came under an unexpected time crunch we are still very excited about the final product and are looking forward to what God is going to do with the project.
Hallels: After Ephesians and Psalms, what's next?
We are talking about a few different things to follow these two albums. We are certainly beginning to book up some dates and would like to continue and grow that part of our ministry, but we are praying through this question ourselves to make sure we are in line with what God has for Revive.
Hallels: When you lead worship on a Sunday, what would you reckon as a good worship service?
As a worship leader it is easy to get caught up in the desire to see hands raised, tears flowing and people flooding the alters and those types of services are certainly a blessing. The important thing in a worship service is that God is glorified and honored. We do that by leading the congregation in sprit-filled and genuine worship. Worship is a journey that is why we have to check our own hearts and make sure that we are preparing not only the set list for the week, but also worshiping throughout the week so that we can lead others. You cannot lead others on a journey that you haven't been on yourself.
