Casting Crowns Took Home the AMA for Favorite Artist: Contemporary Inspirational

At the 43rd American Music Awards which took place on November 22, Casting Crowns took home the AMA for Favorite Artist: Contemporary Inspiration. The awards were held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California and broadcast live on ABC. Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the award show featured appearances and performances by top artists in many genres of music.
Among the other nominees for the AMA for Favorite Artist: Contemporary Inspirational were Hillsong United and MercyMe. What makes the AMAs special is that it is a fan-voted award show with winners determined by votes cast online as well as via Twitter.
Casting Crowns recently eleased their new project, A Live Worship Experience (Beach Street/Reunion). A Live Worship Experience was recorded live this summer at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church, which is Casting Crowns' home church and where frontman, Mark Hall, has remained a full-time youth pastor for more than 20 years.
