How Did Prince Die? Autospy Results Linger

The death of musician Prince stunned fans worldwide. On April 21, 2016, at 9:43 a.m., the Carver County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 phone call from an unidentified male, requesting that an ambulance be sent to Prince's home, initially reporting that Prince was unconscious, and later in the same call that he was dead.Authorities found Prince unresponsive, in an elevator at Paisley Park, which also served as his Minnesota home. Prince did not respond to CPR administered by emergency responders and was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m. He was 57 years old.
But how did Prince die? An autopsy was conducted Friday at the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Ramsey, Minnesota, but it could be days or weeks before results are complete, spokeswoman Martha Weaver said. The autopsy began at 9 a.m. CT (10 a.m. ET) and lasted four hours, she added.
Minnesota's Carver County Sheriff, Sheriff Jim Olson told reporters that Prince's death isn't being treated like a suicide.
"We have no reason to believe at this point that this was a suicide," said Olson, though he was not able to reveal much else about the department's ongoing investigation, reminding the gathered reporters that the office's investigation is just "29 hours old."
The sheriff added that "there was no sign of trauma at all," describing trauma as "some sign of violence."
Prince joined the Jehovah's Witnesses in 2001, following a two-year-long debate with friend and fellow Jehovah's Witness musician Larry Graham. Prince said that he did not consider it a conversion, but a "realization". "It's like Morpheus and Neo in The Matrix", he explained. He attended meetings at a local Kingdom Hall and occasionally knocked on people's doors to discuss his faith.
