Rascal Flatts Release Their First Ever Christmas Album
Country music veterans Rascal Flatts will be releasing their first ever Christmas album later in the fall. The festive album won't include any original holiday songs. Rather, the set will contain all Christmas classics where the team will put their own Flatts version onto these Christmas standards.
"We just went all public domain. Some of our favorites and the classics," Gary LeVox reveals. "We talked back and forth about it and a lot of people around Christmastime, that's all they want is the classics. Of course we put our spin on it and it's really exciting."
"We're in the studio cutting new music. We've got a batch of songs that we feel really, really good about and we're excited about cutting some new music," Jay DeMarcus shared with media outlets at the band's recent No. 1 party for "I Like The Sound of That" (quote via Sounds Like Nashville). "We've been concentrating on the Christmas record this summer and wrapping up a few things on that. Starting to mix here in a couple weeks."
This will mark the band's first Christmas record, something they're excited for fans to hear.
"We've done some one offs here and there but this is the first full project we've ever done," he adds. "It's been fun. It's a little odd to sing 'Let It Snow' in 100 degree weather, but it's been fun."
Rascal Flatts' studio albums have accounted for more than 25 singles, of which 13 have reached No. 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs and/or Country Airplay. Their longest-lasting No. 1 single, a cover of Marcus Hummon's "Bless the Broken Road", spent five weeks in that position in 2005. In 2005-06, "What Hurts the Most" was No. 1 on both the country and Adult Contemporary charts, and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
