Stryper Kicks Off 30th Anniversary To Hell with the Devil Tour with Record Attendance

Multi-platinum rock band Stryper kicked off their 30th Anniversary To Hell with the Devil Tour in late September, with record crowds in attendance for the first eight shows. With 28 cities to go before the band takes an indefinite hiatus from the road, tickets and VIP Meet & Greet packages are selling out fast. "We're only eight shows in and it's incredible," said frontman Michael Sweet. "The fan response has been overwhelming. It's amazing that thirty years later, we're still here. And it's even more amazing that the fans are still here. We're totally humbled by it." Stryper has resurrected their trademark yellow and black costumes for this tour, which includes two live sets, multi-media and their largest sound and lighting production in nearly two decades. Paying tribute to the hit album that made MTV history, Stryper takes the stage to perform the iconic To Hell with the Devil album in it's entirety, followed by a second set of hits and fan favorites from other albums. A limited number of VIP Meet & Greet packages are still available in most cities, giving fans the opportunity to meet the band, take photos and obtain autographs. VIP packages also include exclusive collectibles and early access to the concert venue. Additionally, one lucky VIP Meet & Greet attendee in each city will be presented an RIAA Certified Platinum To Hell with the Devil award. All new 30th Anniversary To Hell with the Devil merchandise is now available exclusively at all tour stops as well as online at www.stryper.com. Released by Enigma Records on October 24, 1986, the GRAMMY-nominated To Hell with the Devil is the band's third studio album and the first Christian metal album to achieve platinum status. Throughout 1987, the music videos for "Free" and "Honestly" ranked #1 on MTV's list of most requested videos, and the video for "Calling on You" reached #2. Stryper was the first band to ever have two songs in MTV's Top 10 simultaneously. Unlike many of their counterparts, Stryper is comprised of all four original members with Michael Sweet on vocals and guitar, Robert Sweet on drums, Tim Gaines on bass and Oz Fox on guitar. Rocking since 1984, Stryper is responsible for such classic '80s metal albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell with the Devil and In God We Trust. After a sabbatical for much of the 1990's, Stryper returned strong in the early 21st century. To date, the Dove Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated band has sold over 10 million records worldwide.
