Creed Former Frontman Scott Stapp 2014 'Proof of Life' Tour Dates Announced, See Cities Selected for Summer Leg
Scott Stapp, former frontman for rock band, Creed, has announced the second leg of his tour dates in support of his album Proof of Life. The shows kick off in North Carolina on June 13th and run through July 2nd in Forth Smith, Arkansas. Tickets go on sale May 2.
Stapp's concert takes fans through Creed hits like "With Arms Wide Open," "Higher," "What If," "My Sacrifice" and shows off tracks from his album Proof of Life, which released from Wind-up Records Nov. 5, 2013. Stapp's first single off of the new album "Slow Suicide" went to No. 1 on Christian radio. The new album was produced by Howard Benson and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge. The story of his hit song "Proof of Life" was birthed from a chilling moment when Stapp realized that for much of his adult life he had been living life as a 'slow suicide.'
The first leg of Stapp's U.S. tour wrapped April 9 in Atlanta, GA, and was followed by a European tour that saw him play to packed venues in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. Stapp also plays his first-ever Christian music festival in the US, Sonshine Festival July 16, followed by Creation Festival Northwest Aug. 1, Soulfest Aug. 8 and more summer festivals to be announced soon.
"For years I was slowly killing myself," shared Stapp. "Drugs and booze want to kill you instantly, but they're patient and will take their time. The same is true of toxic relationships. I had to start off this story by declaring the most obvious of truths: that I had been torturing and poisoning myself in an attempt to snuff out my soul."
"My heart tells me that God is always there, even when you feel your breath fading from your lung," says Stapp, speaking lyrics from his song. "God is reaching out to accept you in ways that renew your spirit and energize your soul."
Stapp fronted the popular American rock band, Creed, which has sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide and garnered three Grammy nominations.
