Taylor Swift Quietly Donates 'Very Sizable' Amount To Houston Food Bank

Taylor Swift has joined the growing list of celebrities that are pitching in to help with the recovery efforts in Houston, Texas. Hurricane Harvey has left the area all but decimated. Under feet of water, downed power lines and neighborhoods in shambles rescue efforts are still underway. More than a week after the storm first hit, the locals need absolutely everything. Basic needs are obviously of great concern and helping to feed people is one area that Swift has already lent a helping hand.
''Taylor Swift has generously made a very sizable donation to Houston Food Bank in honor of her mother who graduated from the University of Houston. We thank you, Taylor, and we thank everyone for donating to help rebuild our community. #houstonstrong (sic)'' said the Houston Food Bank in a post on their Facebook page.
Swift has already grabbed tons of attention in this last week. She announced that her sixth studio album, "Reputation", will be released on Nov. 10. That news came on the immediate heels of the first single and its' video, "Look What You Made Me Do". While Swift has alluded to the fact that she is in the process of shedding a bit of her girl-next-door-image thanks to life experience, it's nice to see that her philanthropic side is still intact.
In the past, Swift has been quick to help in times of need and she has also been incredibly generous with her fans. Stepping up now to help the people of Houston is obviously a bit personal thanks to her mother's Alma mater. Donating quietly makes Swift a bit of a class act. If the Houston Food Bank didn't opt to thank her in such a public way then the rest of us would never have known, proving that it wasn't done for attention.
