Pop superstar Katy Perry and new country starlet Kacey Musgraves have taped the newest episode of "CMT Crossroads" for an unforgettable night of music and for what is sure to be one of the biggest CMT specials of 2014. They have labeled it "Hollywood meets Nashville."
"CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves" airs on Friday, June 13th for what will be the 50th episode of the Crossroads performance series. The CMT Artists App users can get an exclusive sneak peek of "Merry Go 'Round" available now. You can download the CMT Artists App on the App Store or Google Play to watch the full performance.
"The first time I heard of Kacey Musgraves ... I heard it on the Internet," said Perry about listening to "Merry Go 'Round." "I heard it, and I was instantly mesmerized by your lyrical styles, and now you've won two Grammys? Three?"
"Um, two," Musgraves replied. It's been a crazy year. I mean literally -- like insanity."
CMT Crossroads television specials pairs country music artists with musicians from other music genres, performing one another's songs, and also dueting on tracks for memorable and once in a lifetime performances. Kacey and Katy's performances were taped in Los Angeles earlier this month.
"CMT Crossroads: Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves" premieres Friday (June 13) at 10 p.m. ET/PT and features Perry's "Roar" and "Firework" and Musgraves' "Follow Your Arrow," as well as interviews and covers of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" and Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again."
