Sherwin Gardner Releases "Heal Our Land" (Listen)

One of the Caribbean's most beloved gospel artists for over two decades, Sherwin Gardner has created a poignant new song of hope, "Heal Our Land," which merits a place in between "We Are the World" and "Lean on Me" as a universal prayer for peace, brotherhood and divine intervention. It also features a powerful vocal from rising star, Naomi Raine. It's now available on all major digital service providers.
In 2017, Gardner frequently traveled between the United States and his home in the Caribbean to promote his first praise and worship album, Greater (Flow Masters/Tyscot). "Within that period, I was seeing a lot of crime and a lot of negative things happening in the islands and in particular my home island, Trinidad and Tobago," he says.
"I said to myself that Instead of us, as Caribbean people, complaining about all of the crime, the only thing that can really bring change is for God to heal our land and for us to come together as people to pray and to ask God to heal our land," Gardner adds. "But not just to pray... The song is building an initiative for us as a church to start to come together to do more within our communities to build people up and then, bad things started happening in Libya and I said to myself that this prayer is needed everywhere. So, this is a message for the world." The soaring song of hope and prayer is a pre-cursor to Gardner's "Heal Our Land Trinidad" rally that takes place at the 10,000 capacity Arima Velodrome track arena in Trinidad and Tobago on July 28th.
