Listen to Yolanda Adams Pay Tribute to Anita Baker at the 2018 BET Awards

Gospel music legend Yolanda Adams paid tribute to soul artist Anita Baker at the 18th annual BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (June 24). Baker was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the big event. Adams sang Baker's hit "You Bring Me Joy," wowing the audience as she hit every note perfectly.
Starting her career in the late 1970s with the funk band Chapter 8, Anita Baker released her first solo album, The Songstress, in 1983. In 1986, she rose to stardom following the release of her platinum-selling second album, Rapture, which included the Grammy-winning single "Sweet Love". She is regarded as one of the most popular singers of soulful romantic ballads during the height of the quiet storm period of contemporary R&B in the 1980s .
