Chris Rice Releases First Album in 10 Years

Fair Trade Services and Chris Rice have teamed up once again for a new album, Untitled Hymn: A Collection of Hymns, releasing everywhere May 17th.
It has been more than a decade since Chris Rice has released new solo music when he released Peace Like A River: The Hymns Project and fans were clamoring for more. The record has been streamed over 72 million times to date, a number that continues to accumulate at rapid rates, with millions of streams being added each month. This new album, Untitled Hymn: A Collection of Hymns, is a brand new collection and celebration of the sound theology and sweet poetry of these classic songs of faith.
"Great hymns have been my life-long reminders of the deep foundations of truth," shares Chris Rice. "I still often wake up in the middle of the night with a hymn I learned in childhood, suddenly singing in my head. It is a privilege to add my voice to these songs, and bring even more attention to their life-changing words for new generations of listeners."
This album features a dozen well-loved classics that have been given new life, including Rice's own "Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)." This powerful new collection promises to build on that success. Classic songs such as "Leaning On the Everlasting Arms" and "Fairest Lord Jesus" are gently reimagined while staying true to the original tunes one fondly remembers. The spare guitar on "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" gives the classic hymn a rough-hewn, Americana feel, while Rice's piano-driven take on "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" is nothing short of a church service. A jangly version of "This Is My Father's World" conjures up early Rice releases, and a children's choir adds extra heart to "Hallelujah, What a Savior."
