Faith Comedy Film ‘Selfie Dad’ Hits Theaters June 12

Selfie Dad, a faith comedy film for the whole family, is set to premiere nationwide June 12 with a seriously funny story of a dissatisfied dad facing a midlife crisis risking everything to become a YouTube comedy sensation. Along the way, he discovers those self-pursuits can't match the joy of knowing God through the Bible.
Selfie Dad stars nationally known Christian comedian Michael Jr., who for two decades has performed over a hundred dates a year for tens of thousands of people. The film features top-selling female Christian comedian Chonda Pierce along with James Denton, Jamie Grace and Karen Abercrombie (War Room).
"Selfie Dad is a powerful call to dads-and to families-about what the Bible can do to bring true joy to your life," Michael Jr. said. "It just happens to come wrapped in a very funny movie about a dad getting it all wrong before he gets it right."
Super-star music artist Kanye West, a Christian actively reading and studying the Word of God, watched the Selfie Dad trailer and immediately offered one of his hit songs to feature in the film. His record-breaking new album Jesus is King is a worldwide phenomenon, topping Christian and secular music charts.
Move Synopsis:
Spiraling uncontrollably into a mid-life crisis, Ben Marcus, a reality TV editor, is convinced he can only be happy by fulfilling his lost dream of being a comic. Ben posts his stand-up comedy to a YouTube channel, and the videos fall flat until his tweener son posts Ben failing miserably on a home improvement project. Much to his teenage daughter's embarrassment, this video goes viral, launching Ben into a new career as Selfie Dad. Soon Ben is an award-winning, social media comic phenomenon! Problem is, no amount of success seems to bring Ben satisfaction. Through an odd relationship with studio IT guy Mickey, a brash 25-year old studying to be a pastor, Ben is unknowingly mentored into daily Bible reading. As Ben gets serious about the Word, his heart is forever changed.
Written and directed by Brad Silverman, Selfie Dad is from Executive Producer Geno Taylor, Producer Paul L. Long and Co-Producer Patrick G. Ingram.
