Max Lucado Launches "The Max Lucado Encouraging Word" Podcast July 20

New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado is launching a new podcast on July 20, 2020, called The Max Lucado Encouraging Word Podcast. The new podcastwill be distributed across all major platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcast, Stitcher, iHeart Radio, Pandora, TuneIn, and Alexa.
The Max Lucado Encouraging Word Podcast features Max Lucado, and episodes will be derived from the exceedingly popular video "check-ins" Max began sharing online as the Coronavirus pandemic first hit the United States. Max's videos - and now his podcast - point listeners to the comfort and truth of scripture and offer pastoral encouragement as well as poignant stories.
Since March 11, Lucado's check-in videos have been viewed more than 22 million times. Thousands of viewers respond to the check-ins by submitting prayer requests online. Their requests are personally prayed over by Max, his wife Denalyn, and leaders of their church, Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, TX.
"In early March, when news about the pandemic was reaching fever pitch, God reminded me of the story of Joseph in the Old Testament," recalls Max Lucado. "Under the direction of Joseph, Egypt had collected seven years' worth of grain that could be distributed during a time of famine. God reminded me that I have 30 years' worth of publishing, three decades of messages. I sensed a divine call to begin distributing this 'grain' during this challenging season."
Each episode of The Max Lucado Encouraging Word Podcast is an inspiring message from Max Lucado, typically recorded from his home in San Antonio. Episodes will initially release several times a week, drawing from the storehouse of content generated over four months of recording the video check-ins. Future podcast episodes will debut original messages from Lucado's forthcoming book, You Are Never Alone: Trust in the Miracle of God's Presence and Power (September 2020). The format of the podcast will be flexible, allowing Max to share new messages in response to breaking news, international crises, and the leading of God's Spirit.
"We quickly realized Max had created a new avenue for sharing inspiration and encouragement. Each new video tallied thousands upon thousands of views within hours of posting," says Mark Glesne, Marketing Director at HarperCollins Christian Publishing. "Max is the voice of calm, comfort and perspective that people need and appreciate during this time of uncertainty."
Lucado has also shared messages online via free online Bible studies hosted by FaithGateway.com. This year alone, these studies have featured several of Lucado's bestselling books: Jesus, Anxious for Nothing, You'll Get Through This and Facing Your Giants. More than 370,000 individuals participated in the online studies in the Spring 2020. In addition, Max was featured in multiple national media outlets during March and April 2020 offering pastoral guidance. Outlets included Fox & Friends, Newsmax TV, Trinity Broadcasting Network, CBN The 700 Club, Fox News @ Night, The Fish Radio, New Life Live, Moody Radio, Salem Radio Network, FoxNews.com, HLN TV, and more.
Adds Glesne: "Lives are being changed as Max speaks from his heart and from his home. As he has leaned into his God-given pastoral abilities, Max's online ministry has grown dramatically during a very difficult season. His video check-ins and online Bible studies have substantially increased his reach, allowing Max to tell even more people about God's love. As his long time publishing partner, the Thomas Nelson team is thrilled to come alongside him on this podcast launch."
Max Lucado is the leading inspirational author in the United States with more than 140 million books in print in over 54 languages. His writings have been shaped into bestselling books, videos, devotionals, songs, greeting cards, booklets, Bible studies, commentaries, and theatrically-released movies.
