Orange is the New Black Season 3 Cancellation Hoax Netflix CEO Portrayed as Sexist by Article
Apparently there are some jokes that are just not funny especially if they are about the cancellation of Orange is the new Black season 3. This was someone's idea of a joke at Empire News which posted that the article with a title reading "Netflix Pulls Plug On Orange Is The New Black; The Reason Why May Shock You." The reason cited was that Netflix believed a woman's place should be in the kitchen, or taking care of the family. A woman in jail? An official reportedly asked who even watches the show. Has society come to place where we take the worst of HBO's OZ and add women into the mix?
Empire News also stated that the Netflix CEO stated "Also, starting September 1st, 2014, past episodes will no longer be available for streaming on Netflix." Apparently, the Hastings was bashed severely on social media and calls by fans to the company. The outrage was phenomenal and people were calling and threatening to cancel their subscriptions outright: that is how bad it was. Some fans even responded with primal ax-wielding scary phrases to Netflix. However, it was soon cleared up that empire news media is in fact a satirical site and as such, has the liberty to post whatever they want but using fictional names and characters though if the names happen to be legitimate; well sorry-it was a coincidence.
That is all they had to say for the amount of grief caused. Though in all fairness they did post a note at the bottom of the article stating the nature of the site, but who bothers to read the fine print, knowing people. This is just another case of a troll gone very wrong.
