LUMINS Talks About How their New Album is a Labor of Love
LUMINS is the newest artist to be birthed from the Austin Stone Worship Creative Collective. They have just released their brand new album, simply entitled Vol. 1. The album, which comprises of 8 songs, finds the team blending elements of EDM, synth pop, and live instrumentation with theologically-rich lyrics to create a fresh expression of worship.
The making of the album was indeed a labor of love that took years to complete. The band reflects, "Thanks to all of you who have been on this journey with us since we launched @lumins_music last fall! This album has been in the works for several years, and we could not be more excited to finally share it with you!"
LUMINS has one wish for this record, they want "to help weave the beauty of the gospel into your heart in a fresh way!"
One of the album's highlight is the track "Your Mercy." Recording the album during the pandemic, the team had trouble connecting with the viocalist of the song Rachael Sproull who was living in another city. "Thankfully she was kind enough to set up an iPhone in her living room and sing through the song a few times, so that we could feed the video through this delightfully staticky, analog JVC tube TV from the 90's."
Another highlight is the song "All Because of Christ:""This song was such a fun and fresh collab between the one and only @jimmymcneal and producer + sound genius @iamsethkaye. It was an honor to reimagine this solid @austinstoneworship song that is chock-full of such rich theology and truth!"
