Avatar 2 Release Date, Spoilers, as Sigourney Weaver Set to Return for the Avatar Sequel Keeping a Permanent but Transformative Role in the Franchise
The original motion picture Avatar film was released in 2009 and became quite a success at the box office and this is probably the main reason why director James Cameron was psyched up for a sequel. Seeing that the original film took four years to make, the next film should not take so long. The software and computer graphics machinery and equipment has improved considerably since then. The producers state that they have been working very closely with Weta Digital developing a whole new bag of tricks to make things more efficient. All things considered, the Avatar is still a long way off even with current estimates suggesting that the premiere date should be somewhere in the fall on 2016.
The reason for this date is not only to give enough time for preparation but also because of the flood of films that are set to premiere next summer which would only flood the market to add another unprepared supposed blockbuster. It is a business after all. Similarly, the crew has been busy working on the plot for the sequels including Avatar 2, 3 and possibly 4. The shooting of the film should start in the fall and Sam Worthington; the main character will obviously reprise his role in the flick.
There was a sneak peak of Avatar 2 which was provided by Cameron where he implied that there would be new contexts meaning new worlds this time and more characters to be introduced for the budding franchise. At the present he claimed that they were in the creative stage were the crew was designing the creatures and world settings while he was still working on the script. The Titanic director said he had not yet begun directing but he was doing the creative processes that led up to the point. The second installment should be impressive and better than the original. Grace Augustine who died during the original film is set to come back for the sequel transformed into something entirely different. She is set to be a crucial point of each installment.
