Anthony Brown & group therAPy Take the No. 1 Spot with “Up Up Up”

The GRAMMY® award nominated and R.I.A.A. certified platinum-selling gospel act, Anthony Brown & group therAPy, have taken the top spot on both the Billboard and Mediabase Gospel Airplay charts with their upbeat inspirational anthem, "Up Up Up" (Key of A / Tyscot / Fair Trade), for the week ending August 31, 2024.
The track was produced by Brown alongside keyboardist Darryl Woodson who has collaborated with Brown and other gospel acts such as Dorothy Norwood and JJ Hairston in the past. The high-octane, rhythmic urban track opens with Brown's longtime co-producer Justin Savage's adolescent son Zach singing "This Little Light of Mine."

The single hails from Anthony Brown & group therAPy's current album, Affirmations (Key of A / Tyscot / FairTrade), the group's sixth project. "There's genuineness in the singing, majesty in the arrangements, and melodic variety in the selections," a reviewer wrote in The Journal of Gospel Music. "It is as bright, bristling, and optimistic in sound as its lyrics are intended to heal the hurt. A contender for best gospel album of the year."
The Washington, D.C.-based group has amassed over 900 million digital streams over the course of its two-decade career. Known for their slick harmonies, the group has crafted a string of No. 1 gospel radio hits such as "Blessings on Blessings," "Trust in You," and "Speak Your Name." Their signature cut "Worth" spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay chart in 2015. The song earned the group the first of its three GRAMMY® Award nominations in the category of Best Gospel Performance /Song of the Year in 2013. It also earned them multiple Billboard Music and American Music Award nominations.
