Mark & Sarah Tillman Tell the Touching Story Behind "How Great"

"How Great" is a worship single by Mark & Sarah Tillman, released in 2025 under Watershed Music Group. The song is available for streaming and purchase on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
The song was birthed out of a time of trials. The Tillmans tell their story: "In early 2019 after moving to the Nashville area Sarah's body began to suddenly break down and lose functionality. From debilitating acid reflux, slowly losing the ability to chew and swallow food, panic attack after panic attack on the hour every hour, insomnia, and the walls closing in on every side, it seemed there were zero answers or fixes. No voice to sing from the acid eroding her esophagus and just talking became a struggle. She was wasting away in all senses of the phrase. How could we sing about what we weren't experiencing, but was actually the complete opposite it seemed?
"We were adamant that we heard the voice of the Lord so clearly to move and not "chase our dreams" or "do the Christian artist thing" but to partner together in creating a resting place for the Lord. No gimmick, no impressive drivers, just a habitation house. Not for us, but for him. For his people to minister to him. With every single day being a Mt. Everest just to make it to bedtime, that call felt like a fairy tale.
"3 years of healing, physical therapy, counseling, doctors, natural paths, over the counter medicine and many moments of hell on earth we saw the sun rise after what felt like an eternal darkness. Slowly and steadily she healed. There was no suddenly moment, no instant miracle and no finger snap, light switch event. Those are amazing, real, and beautiful but not what we experienced. It was a long dark night of the soul, spirit and body where the Father was with her, and us, through it all. It was His enduring faithfulness that never left. That's His greatness on full display to me. Time and plenty of it where it seemed all was wasting away. And there He was."
