3 Doors Down's Brad Arnold Diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer: "I'm Not Scared"

Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, has been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that has metastasized to his lungs. He announced this diagnosis in an emotional Instagram video on May 7, 2025, expressing his strong faith and lack of fear, stating, "I'm not scared" and attributing his courage to his belief in God.
As a result of his diagnosis, 3 Doors Down has canceled their upcoming summer tour, which was scheduled to include performances alongside Creed and other bands.
Arnold, who overcame alcohol addiction in 2016, has been open about his Christian faith, often sharing messages of hope and love with his fans. He credits his faith for his sobriety and has felt called to share the Gospel, telling audiences that Jesus loves them.
In his announcement, Arnold referenced the band's 2008 song "It's Not My Time" as a source of personal strength during this challenging period.
Support and encouragement have poured in from fans and fellow musicians, including Creed frontman Scott Stapp and Daughtry's Chris Daughtry.
Arnold remains hopeful and determined to face this challenge with faith and the support of his fans.
