We have the latest news on the release date, cast, premiere and rumors of season 2 of True Detective. There is some sad news for those who follow the 'True Detective' series. The second season of the series may be delayed as the show is currently facing a crisis in casting the right people in the upcoming season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO programming director Michael Lombardo gave some insights but he did not give any information on the cast.
It was earlier rumored that the second season would be ready for release in early 2015 but with the crisis with the casting, it may be impossible. There are speculations that since the cast have not yet been finalized; the filming of the season has not yet started. It seems like the production team is having a hard time replacing the cast that featured in the first season. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson set very high standards which has made the fans to expect a lot.
It is not the first time that there are reports about the series having problems. Earlier in the month, Daniel Feinberg tweeted, "I feel like something has to be wrong for...casting to be dragging on like this." HBO has however not confirmed or denied that the 'True Detective' season 2 will be behind schedule.
There are rumors that Collin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch will be taking the roles of the two lead actors in the second season of the series, but the actors have not commented on whether they will feature in the upcoming season. It is also rumored that the 'Mad Men' actress, Elizabeth Moss, is in talks with the show's producers to play the female lead in the next season of 'True Detective.' Vince Vaughn is also rumored to be in negotiation with the producers to play the fourth leading role. Reports say that he might take the role of a villain in the next season.
HBO has not announced the premiere date for 'True Detective' season 2. However, reports claim that the series will be back on air in January 2015, or the early months of 2015. We shall keep you updated on any new news we get our hands on concerning 'True Detective.'
