Fatal Frame 5 Release Date, News and Updates: New 5 minute Gameplay Video released Online
The Wii U exclusive game Fatal Frame V: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden, is an upcoming survival-horror videogame developed by Tecmo and Nintendo. It is the fifth entry into the franchise, the last one being 2008's Fatal Frame IV, which was only released in Japan.
The new gameplay is just under 5 minutes and shows off the playability for the Wii U's GamePad and also introduces us to the two playable characters of the game, Miu Hinasaki and Ren Houjou. Taking photos to fight off enemies and examining objects are just a few things you'll be able to do with the GamePad. The gameplay also has a few jump scares and a very creepy walk in the woods, so for people who frighten easily, you've been warned. Check the gameplay below.
The horror game franchise has been known to be one of the scariest games back when it debuted, and this seems like a good time to make a comeback especially considering the return of gamers' interest in horror themed games.
The survival horror game was first announced back in April, but to a lot of fans' dismay, it didn't make an appearance for the Electronic Entertainment Expo back in June.
Fatal Frame V: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden will be released in Japan on September 27. It has not yet been made clear if the game will be released outside of Japan, but seeing that horror games have been given a lot attention recently, it would be best to do so. Unfortunately, the game is exclusively available for the Wii U, and that might be a huge factor considering that most gamers use the PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
