White Collar Season 6: The Final Season, Cast Interview
It is sad but true. White Collar Season 6 is going to be the show's final season. I have to ask myself repeatedly, "Why are they going to cancel such a wonderful show?" I mean the show is funny, interesting, and innovative.
In an interview with executive producer Jeff Eastin, he revealed why they have decided to make White Collar Season 6 the final season with just six episodes. Eastin said, "The really nice thing about six episodes is that it almost feels like a limited series." Eastin explained that the creators agreed that they only have one room for one big adventure for Peter and Neal. He stressed that it is the core of the show - Neal versus Peter.
It remains to be seen how the season is going to end. Will Neal be finally free? Will Peter finally catch him and his tricks? Eastin said he had been talking to Matt Bomer and Tim Dekay about how they wanted to end things with Neal and Peter. He did not reveal anything except the fact that "they've settled with the one they really like."
In an interview with actor Matt Bomer, he gave a hint that the show will probably have an open ending and that some of the fans may be disappointed that it will not have a happy ending.
Bomer said, "I'm not a big fan of series endings that wrap everything up into a nice bow. I love that Hitchcockian element of believing that people's imaginations are more potent than anything you can spell out for them. The writers have done a really good job of creating an ending that leaves a lot open to interpretation."
As for how the cast is doing, knowing that this is the show's last season, the actor said that it is just like old times.
