Tekken 7 Update: Savate Fighter 'Catalina', Harada's New Character in Tekken 7, Upcoming Game Returns to Old Roots

During the Tokyo Game Show 2014, Tekken series creator Katsuhiro Harada revealed a new female character for the upcoming new Tekken 7. Her name is Catalina, a "sassy-mouthed-talker". She has her roots from the Latin America, and uses Savate as her fighting style. Savate is a form of French martial art that mixes boxing and kick-boxing. Harada said that Catalina "will be vocal" in the upcoming new Tekken series, and this character is said to be beginner friendly.

For the meantime, Namco Bandai is working on the early stages of the Tekken 7 game's development, and should be reaching the final touches by the next year.

Tekken 7 will depart from the previous game concepts, return to "Tekken's true essence", and feature one-on-one battles and Unreal Engine 4. Mr. Harada is proud to mention that Unreal Engine 4 will bring game players a new fighting experience; this powerful next-gen platform is easy to use and has achieved a visual quality that exceeds the previous generations.

Tekken 7 will finally give the answers to many of the Tekken series mysteries: Why is Heihachi attempting to kill his grandson and why did Heihachi throw Kazuya off a cliff? What's the true identity of Devil Jin? These are just a few of the many questions that Tekken 7 is ready to answer. As Harada said, the new game chapter is set to conclude the Mishima clan saga.

Let us wait for Harada to give out more details on the upcoming new game. Fans can expect Tekken 7 to hit the market around the latter months of next year.
