The Walking Dead Season 5 Spoilers: New Characters in Season 5, Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel, Kevin Durand as Villain Negan?
AMC's The Walking Dead was officially renewed for a fifth season and premieres October 12, 2014 at 9PM. It was officially confirmed last year for a total of 16 episodes. First 8 episodes are scheduled to air in the fall, and the rest will air mid season of 2015. The first episode is called "No Sanctuary".
The latest update reports is that Kevin Durand might be part of the fifth season as villain Negan, as in the villain from the graphic novel series. The rumor started since the last season and Kevin Durand himself stated that he was approached for the role. The said news is it is still unofficial.
What is official though is that a new comic book character will appear in the upcoming season. Actor Seth Gilliam will be playing the character role of Father Gabriel, who is said to be "having two sides, displaying a friendly, puckish humor but also having a haunted side stemming from a dark secret".
One of the show's executive producer, Scott M Gimple, shared a few details about the new season during an interview with Larry King. He said that we can expect more action, power struggle, and a new blooming romance. We will also find out Beth's situation.
As The Walking Dead cast members and writers put it, season 5 is going to be "explosive", "messy", "brutal", and "thrilling".
The Walking Dead season 5 premieres October 12, 2014 at 9PM, with its first episode "No Sanctuary".
