iPad Air 2 latest news: iPad Air 2, also known as the iPad 6, will be introduced to the public by October 16. This will coincide with the launch of the iPad Mini 3 and iWatch, which are expected to be in shelves by November.

iPad Air 2 specs leaked online indicate that it will be thinner than its predecessor, to be able to compete with Samsung and Sony's latest tablet offerings, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5 and the Sony Xperia Z2.

The iPad Air 2 will have a 2GB RAM, bigger than the 1GB currently available in all iPad devices. The added memory will give iPad Air 2 the power and flexibility to support split-screen multitasking features. Users will now be able to run several apps simultaneously with less the hassle.

Screen-wise, the iPad Air 2 will have a 9.7in display similar to the iPad Air, but with better resolution and a thinner IGZO screen for better reaction speeds and power efficiency.

iPad Air 2 will also be fitted out with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a more powerful processor, the A8. It will also have an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a 1.5 megapixel front camera. iPad Air 2 will be running on iOS 8, which means users will have a better experience with Photos, Messages, Spotlight, and Safari. There will also be new interactive widgets, a QuickType keyboard, Family Sharing, iCloud Drive, a full suite of apps, and connectivity features to keep users constantly in touch.
