"Cinderella": Re-experience Disney's "Cinderella" in Live-Action Mode in 2015
Fans of Disney movies will be thrilled on the return of one of the Disney princesses to the big screen. Disney will be having the modern adaptation of the Classic story "Cinderella".
According to KpopStarz, the plot will be remain the same, sticking to the original story by Charles Perrault. However, the narration will be based on prince charming's point of view.
Eric Eisenberg of Cinema Blend, shares his thoughts on the film, which was screened at the Comic Con. "There is an interesting mix of tones at work, as heavy drama is lightened by some funny dialogue and rapport, and the film looks gorgeously shot. Of course, this is the footage that Disney wanted us to see in order to get us excited for the film, but my interest is definitely piqued," he said.
Movie producer Simon Kinberg also speaks his thoughts on the upcoming film in Hero Complex. "We were thinking of titles and character that we hadn't really seen done in a modern, live-action way, and we were king of stunned that Cinderella hasn't really been done that way, as a traditional, loyal telling of the story," Kinberg said. "She's a great iconic character, a character that I loved when I was a kid, and I loved the Disney animated movie," the producer added.
The upcoming movie will star Lily James as she will play the lead role of the young orphaned girl named Ella. Also, the princess is paired with her Prince Charming, Kit, which will be played by Richard Madden. Lily James also stars "Downton Abbey" while her leading man Richard Madden is playing the role of Rob Stark in "Game of Thrones."
Other members of the cast include Cate Blanchett as Cinderella's stepmother Lady Tremaine, Holliday Grainger and Sophie McSherra as the stepsisters Anastacia and Drizella. Helena Bonham Carter will play the magical fairy godmother, Stellan Skarsgard as the Grand Duke, Derek Jacobi as the King, Nonzo Anosie as Captain, and Hayley Atwell and Ben Chaplin as Cinderella's parents.
