Faith is the Key to Reba McEntire's Success

At 60, Reba McEntire still reignites the charts her 12th No. 1 album and a No. 3 Billboard 200 with her "Love Somebody" (Nash Icon Records) new album. 62,469 copies were sold in the first week after nearly five years without new music. Ascending to No. 1 on the iTunes Country Top Songs charts in both the U.S. and Canada, the project's sassy lead single "Going Out Like That" scored the biggest single sales debut of Reba's career and has already sold more than 100,000 downloads.
In an interview with Fox411, Reba McEntire says that the secret of her success is faith in Jesus Christ. Reba prays to God and follows what she feels he asks her to do. "[Faith] guides me on everything I do. I ask for guidance, I ask the Lord to give me wisdom when I speak, when I think and I always try to be positive and say nice things and it gives me strength throughout every minute and every day."
Speaking of her song "Pray for Peace," Reba McEntire says the words came to her as she was outside praying one day.
"It's a song that was started 2-3 years ago when I was out walking. My front yard is my church and that's where I go out and I talk to God...so 'Pray for Peace' came to my mind and I started praying for peace. A month or two later I'm like, 'Lord, what have you got in mind for me? What's my next project?' And He said, 'I want you to pray for peace.'"
After "Pray for Peace" was written and recorded, Reba says she felt that God was asking her to give the song away, so she released it on YouTube. However, Reba McEntire decided to add the song on her latest album, the first in five years, entitled "Love Somebody." To Reba, the song is a gift from God that she wants to share with fans.
