Michael W. Smith Set to Release Children's Book & Album

Multi-Platinum, three-time Grammy® Award winning artist, best-selling author and acclaimed actor Michael W. Smith is set to release a new children's book. Inspired by his own grandchildren, the book is co-written with Mike Nawrocki and it is entitled Nighty Night and Good Night.
Nighty Night and Good Night will be accompanied by a companion lullaby album. Both the book and accompanying album will be released on May 7. The book is available for pre-order now, with a few exclusive gifts available when you order before May 7th.
Smith writes: "I've been dreaming about creating children's books for a long time. What can I say? I have a bunch of grandkids! So I couldn't be more excited to collaborate with my buddy and co-creator of VeggieTales, Mike Nawrocki, on my very first picture book, Nighty Night and Good Night."
Nighty Night and Good Night is the first book in a series of bedtime books by Smith and VeggieTales co-creator Mike Nawrocki. In Nighty Night and Good Night, the stuffed animal band the Nighty Nights are called upon to help their friend Ben try to fall to sleep. This cute and sleepy adventure leads Lamby, Bear, and Sleepy Puppy to discover that a classic lullaby might just do the trick.
This book includes a link that allows readers to listen to Michael W. Smith sing the same lullaby that helps put Ben to sleep.
Founded by Michael W. Smith, Nurturing Steps is an infant and toddler series of children's music and books with a simple mission to enliven a child's journey with hope and faith through music and storytelling.
Nighty Night and Good Night follows last month's double release of A Million Lights and Surrounded. Released Feb. 16, Michael's USA Today, Billboard, Yahoo! Music, CCM Magazine and NewReleaseToday-acclaimed studio album, A Million Lights, includes the lead single/video and title track along with "Love Always Wins," "Crashing Waves," "Revolution" and "Footsteps," while his live worship album Surrounded (released Feb. 23) features not only the declarative "Surrounded (Fight My Battles)," but "Light To You," "Build My Life" and more songs that Parade calls a "masterful blend of uplifting messaging, brilliant song writing."
