Chris Whittington Releases "Light," the 2nd Single from His Upcoming Sophomore EP
Singer/songwriter and Texas-based steel industry executive Chris Whittington has released his new single, "Light." "Light" is the second single from Whittington's upcoming sophomore EP, REALITORIUM, which is slated to be unveiled August 23, 2024.
The single, which has released to Christian AC and CHR radio stations, is available on iTunes and Amazon, and it can be streamed on Spotify as well as all major music streaming sites.
"Light" is a rock 'n' roll anthem mixed with the great feel of your favorite Friday night marching band.
Produced by Kemper Crabb, with horn arrangements by Fletch Wiley and lead guitar by Frank Hart, the new song bursts out with a driving rhythm and a bold call to choose salvation.
With soaring, masterful guitars and an addictive, high-energy horn section, Chris and his crew's vocals pulse forth the truth of a life redeemed.
"God's light allows us to see the world as it is and as it was meant to be, encouraging us to do the Kingdom work we were made for," says Whittington of his new song's theme.
Listeners can find "Light" on Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Tidal, YouTube, and other popular streaming platforms, or click here.
Whittington's upcoming project, REALITORIUM, the follow-up to his debut project, BRIGHT PORTAL, has been described as a revival rhythm for the soul. It's a deep dive into all things rock n roll, spiritually reflective, and theology-driven. Listeners will find a collection of tunes with the essence of worship and praise, backed by a solid tradition of musicianship, crafted by a stellar host of Christian music industry icons.
Whittington defines "realitorium" as the the arena of the created cosmos, the universe itself, which is there mediating God's glory, His existence, creatorship, and rule.
On the album, Whittington has teamed up with producer Kemper Crabb, along with award-winning musicians Phil Keaggy and Fletch Wiley, to create a collection of songs that reflect upon everyday themes in tunes such as "Reality," "Light," and "Portal," which aim to draw listeners closer to God.
Whittington, who has earned critical acclaim from many musicians, pastors, authors, and fans, who have continued to applaud him for his ministry and life's work, has shared the stage with Crabb and other top contemporary Christian artists and worship leaders.
"Chris Whittington's music flows with all the lushness of Eden, but remembers that we are still living east of there," says R.C. Sproul Jr., author and theologian.
One of Whittington's standout performances was featured on the successful PBS television special, Downe in Yon Forrest: Christmas from the Middle Ages, where he shared lead vocals with Crabb. The television special attracted more than 165 million viewers nationwide.
Whether it is through his successful business practices at Whittington Steel, the thriving company he owns and operates in Houston, Texas, or in his poignant song lyrics, Whittington's life is devoted to sharing meaningful stories that touch hearts and change lives.
REALITORIUM is built upon Whittington's own foundation of faith. From an early age, Chris had an overwhelming desire to worship God through music. As a teen, he played guitar at Bible study and led others in worship. Today, he continues to balance a more-than-full time career in the steel industry with his love for melody, harmony, and instrumentation.
"Hearing powerful songs can have a tremendous impact on your spiritual growth and personal faith journey," Whittington says.
Whether he is reflecting on his calling in the commercial marketplace, or his greatest loves of the church and music, Whittington understands how both have equally shaped his own life and impacted those around him, including his family, friends, and the local community, while his music continues to reach people across the globe.
