Greg LaFollette Journeys with Jesus to the Cross on "Holy Week Volume Two"

Greg LaFollette

Greg LaFollette has announced his seventh studio album, entitled Holy Week Volume Two. LaFollette self-produced its tracks at The Culture House, where he is the artist-in-residence. It will be released on April 4, 2025.

Holy Week Volume Two is both a chronicle of Jesus' last days as well as a call to transform the pain and suffering that we all experience into something redemptive. The record leads us through the traditional movements of Holy Week; beginning with the triumphal entry and ending with Jesus' brutal execution. In true form, LaFollette guides listeners toward a full spectrum of reality, campaigning for a "faith that allows doubt and a good life that is marked by suffering for the sake of others."

True to type, this album is intended to equip the church with practical resources, but it also lends itself to sober personal reflection. "When we truly accept that we have a high priest who is able to empathize with our experiences, a kindredness can form with God. A deep friendship forged from shared grief and pain is possible."

The record is a full band production with stark, folk-inspired textures accompanied by heavy, raw emotional moments. The acoustic elements throughout are thoughtfully complemented with gorgeous, modern production; and the songs showcase LaFollette's artistic prowess.

Holy Week Volume Two follows the release of Holy Week Volume One in 2019 as well as LaFollette's Psalm 136 (Your Mercy Endures) which went to #1 on the iTunes New Zealand Christian & Gospel Chart. Quietly, LaFollette has amassed over 8 million streams on Spotify alone.
