Ray McDonald Allegedly Assaulted Pregnant Fiance - Case with the DA
Ray McDonald is a famous football for the San Francisco 49ers and he started his career during college for the University of Florida and was a member of the BCS National Championship team.
This is not the first time that McDonald was involved in a domestic dispute. The police report said that the couple "were in an argument when the female subject became upset, grabbed a firearm (handgun) registered to the male subject, and held it at her side. When the male subject informed the female subject that he was going to call 911, the female subject put the firearm away and fled without incident. The female subject did not make any threats or point the firearm at the male subject."
The events were repeated again in August 31, 2014. The police were again called to McDonald's residence. Reports said that his fiancé have some bruises on her arm and neck, allegedly caused by McDonald. The football star was then arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. McDonald was taken into custody at 2:45 a.m. and was taken away from his home at Bentley Ridge Drive. He was released on a $25,000 bond.
All the evidence on the case was now turned over to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. The DA's office is going to review the case and it's now up to them, if they will charge McDonald, or not. This is one of the significant progress in case.
The district attorney's office released an statement via Twitter saying, "Prosecutors will review, decide whether or not to file criminal charges, or seek further investigation." But there's no set timeline on the case. The first arraignment was set last September 29 but was cancelled because the police was not yet done with their investigation.
After being released from jail, McDonald said, "I can't say too much, not right now, but the truth will come out. Everybody knows the kind of person that I am. I'm a good-hearted person."
Since his release from jail, McDonald never misses a single day in training. He continues to play for the 49ers, even during the investigation of the case against him.
